Hello, everyone thank you for all of you’re wonderful submissions. It was really tough to choose a winner. If you’re curious to see if you’re the one who took the biscuit scroll down or have a look at the screens. One thing to add before we tell you this month's theme is that we have donated some of your pictures to the borneo concert that will be selling them for charity, please let us know if you have any objections to this. Anyway this month’s theme is;
Black and white.
Though this may seem limited, black and white photography can put you out of your comfort zone and make you focus on the basic elements of photography. After all black and white was where it all originated. There are so many shades between black and white you can experiment with and this month is an opportunity for just that.
Winners:
1. Esme Fyfe

2. Sophia Smith

3. Mathew Conway

4. Danielle Blumer

Tips:
Contrast: High contrast in black and white pictures is used often but we want to see how you can play with high contrast and low contrast pictures to create more dimension. Look at our examples for inspiration.
Long exposure:Long exposure shots can work really well in monochrome photography, especially where there’s moving water or clouds.
Visualize: Visualize your picture in black and white, only pay attention to lines, shadows, and shapes. This trick is very helpful to aid photographers in pre-visualizing a black and white image even though we live in a colour world.
